Karin Spirn is a writer and community college English instructor living in Oakland, California. She is the author of two novels, The Divine Sharpness in the Heart of God and Hold this Pose. She holds a PhD in English from the University of Michigan. She has studied martial arts for twelve years and currently trains with a group of tiny but fearsome women. She can be found hunched over her laptop in coffee shops across the bay area.
